Wittersham, Kent.

In an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, set within the picturesque village of Wittersham, "capital" of the Isle of Oxney, which was an island surrounded by seawater, this exclusive property offers rural tranquillity, whilst sporting a unique and contemporary edge. Part of the village is a conservation area, and boasts not only an attractive 13th Century Grade I listed church and the tallest post mill in Kent, offering superb views from the top floors, but also a CAMRA award winning traditional English pub serving superb real ales, and the food is reportedly excellent too!

The village hosts a Community Market every Tuesday where local fresh produce and crafts are available or alternatively pop along to The Chapel Down Winery in Small Hythe, the largest producer of English Wines where you will find Kentish food and drink, including a range of award-winning wines. The main shopping centres are only 5 minutes drive away in the market town of Tenterden and the quaint town of Rye with its cobbled streets. Both abound with antique shops, art galleries, museums and plenty of delightful tea shops, quirky old inns, country pubs and restaurants.

Traditional on the outside with a rustic charm, the interior design is a delight with colour co-ordinated fabrics complemented by a wealth of exposed beams and a wood burning fire for those cosy winter visits. The spacious tastefully furnished sitting/dining room has French doors leading to a lawned garden with views over rolling countryside. The kitchen is fully equipped and the ground floor bathroom has a shower over the bath. Stairs lead to the beautifully appointed double and twin bedrooms both with countryside views.

Agents Note:
Use of a swimming pool and tennis court at the Owners discretion.

Property Reviews
The cottage was in an excellent location to visit all the places of interest in the area. It was very well equipped and beautifully decorated. - cb uk
Cottage extremely well furnished and with a great deal of thought given to equipment and harmonising old building construction with modern conveniences.
Spacious feel to ground floor rooms. Bedroms well decorated with lots of decor touches. Quiet location but easy access to Rye and Tenderden.
Welcoming ownerfrom property next door.
Only real inconvenience is that shower is not effective.
Would certainly recommend for 2 or 4 people but not children. - JG Australia
A very charming and beautifully decorated cottage within the grounds of the owner’s house. There is a spacious living/dining room with very comfortable seating, a well-equiped kitchen (apart from the lack of a teapot) and nicely appointed bathroom downstairs. Upstairs are two pretty though quite small bedrooms. Great care has gone into choosing the furnishings. Outside space is quite limited (being a fenced-off part of the owner’s gardens) and overlooks the owner’s swimming pool (so i suspect there may be privacy issues when the pool is in use). But there are nice views across the countryside. - JH UK
