Nestled in the North Downs on a working farm, Springfield Cottage is one of two unique properties that have been thoughtfully restored from original farm buildings with many of the exposed timbers and interesting features retained.
For those who enjoy the countryside there is an abundance of wildlife in the area and in the spring, nightingales can be heard singing across the valley between the surrounding woodlands. With Downland Nature Reserve, which is a sanctuary for rare species of orchid and other ornate plants, close by and an excellent network of well maintained footpaths and bridle ways leading from the door nature lovers will be in their element. The nearest pub and shop is about a 10 minute drive.
A wonderful location for exploring the historic towns, pretty villages and family seaside resorts of Kent. Canterbury with its character narrow streets and period architecture, together with the spectacular Cathedral is only eight miles away as is Ashford international Station giving easy access to both London and Europe.
Springfield Cottage: A cosy cottage ideal for two. It comprises of an attractively timbered living area with comfortable lounge furnishings, dining table and chairs. Short flights of stairs lead to a sleeping gallery, which incorporates a double bedroom with a charming sloping roof and velux window. An additional small set of stairs lead down from the living area into a fully fitted and equipped kitchen. Also from the lounge is a shower room, which is fitted with a shower, w.c and wash hand basin. The small patio is a perfect spot to enjoy the peace and quiet and relax.
Springfield Barn: Inside: Springfield Barn is unusual in design, having an open barn appearance retaining the character and atmosphere of the original building, with an abundance of exposed timbers. The majority of the cottage is on one level. It has a spacious lounge/dining room with comfortable furnishings and a fully fitted kitchen at the far end. A door leads to a separate shower room fitted with shower cubicle, w.c and wash hand basin. From the lounge an open timbered room divider leads into the double bedroom and separate dressing room. A short flight of stairs leads to a small gallery area giving an overall view of the cottage and provides an additional single bed.
There is a small patio and garden overlooking the farm. A lovely setting to sit and dream.
