Salehurst, Nr Robertsbridge, East Sussex.

Rose Cottage Studio is located in peaceful surroundings with a stunning outlook over a large pond, (home to ducks, geese and visiting heron), fields with sheep and cattle, and beyond over the rolling East Sussex countryside as far as Brightling Needle.

This enchanting spacious self-contained studio cottage with traditional white exterior weatherboarding adjoins the owners home but enjoys seclusion with its own quaint patio door entrance, making the studio a perfect getaway retreat, especially for nature and beach lovers.

A tantalising lacework of leafy lanes, woodland walks and cycle trails lead from the doorstep and even the most intrepid ramblers could lose themselves in any direction for days on end. Many glorious gardens, stately houses and historic castles are also nearby, including spectacular Bodium Castle, the magnificent moated Herstmonceux Castle surrounded by beautiful parkland and Elizabethan gardens and the quintessential English Gardens at Pashley Manor.

The beaches at Hastings, St Leonards and Bexhill, with the daring modernist De La Ware Pavilion are a short drive away and with Dover, Newhaven and Folkestone all within an hours drive why not discover the beaches of the beautiful Cote d'Opale in Northern France. Alternatively 70 minutes by train from Robertsbridge Station (2 miles) will take you to London for some retail therapy or a West End show.

Light and airy with vaulted ceiling and wooden flooring, complemented by cream and pastel blue décor and furnishings give the studio a soothing, tranquil atmosphere. The main living area with comfy sofa, pretty hand painted table and chairs and twin beds has an unusual, but well equipped kitchen secreted in a cupboard with a combined oven/microwave/grill. A shower room with a power shower cubicle, chest of drawers, mirror and wall heater, leads to separate cloakroom with washbasin, heated towel rail and w.c.

Outside this lovely property the decked veranda is a delightful place to sit and enjoy the superb outlook or dine alfresco with a chilled glass of wine in the secluded personal garden area.

Property Reviews
Charming cottage next to duck pond, sheep meadow and with lovely view over a valley; though small it is equipped with everything you need for a holiday (esp. the kitchen) Very well situated in the quiet hamlet of Salehurst, but close to shops (incl. farm shops), a very good pub and major roads that take you to all kinds of interesting sights including some of the most interesting run by the NT - KM Germany
The property proved to be better than our expectations. The layout was very well thought out especially the ’kitchen’ area which was concealed so whilst relaxing we weren’t aware of cookers, sinks, pots and pans etc. The location was superb with the cottage overlooking a pond with ducks and geese. We had a small veranda from where we could watch them whilst enjoying a bite to eat and glass of wine. We also had our own area of garden overlooking the pond and South Downs. The cottage owner Clare was very pleasant and helpful. We would certainly recommend this property for a couple who wanted restful accommodation after a busy day out. - MM UK
Rose Cottage at Salehurst was very comfortable, clean and although small had everything we needed.
The location was lovely, and the outlook from the little decking area was absolutely charming.
The owner of the property was very helpful.
Shame about the weather, but that can’t be helped! - DC UK
