Ewhurst Green, East Sussex.

A converted former cowshed, this beautiful property occupies a quiet corner of a 30-acre estate and lies at the end of a long gravel drive some good distance from a little-used country lane. With its own pretty garden and seating area, it’s a wonderfully tranquil spot which enjoys far-reaching views over the surrounding fields and wooded hills.

With a footpath at the end of the garden linking to an extensive network of walks, the property provides a perfect base from which to explore the wonderful countryside in this area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Stroll half-a-mile down the hill to the beautiful village of Ewhurst Green and enjoy a freshly-cooked meal or a pint of beer at the famous at the local Inn.

Or a little over a mile away across the pretty River Rother there’s the historic 13th century Bodiam Castle. On the way there you will cross the railway line that carries the Kent and East Sussex steam railway rather gently from Bodiam to the lovely town of Tenterden.

If you’re interested in history, a few miles to the west there’s the quaint town of Battle with its famous Abbey and the battlefield where King William defeated King Harold in 1066. The historic port of Rye is just nine miles away and the glorious dunes and fabulous beach at Camber Sands is another mile or so further along the coast.

This beautifully converted barn is full of beams, high ceilings and wooden floors. Very tastefully decorated and in immaculate condition, the accommodation is both extremely spacious and superbly comfortable.

Off the entrance corridor is a lovely double bedroom with an en-suite shower and toilet. Further along the corridor there’s a large living room – with a sofabed that can accommodate an extra person – and there are stable doors that open onto a private garden and seating area for the exclusive use of guests.

There is a very well equipped and large kitchen/dining room, a utility area that houses the washing machine and finally a sizeable drying room.
