Back in 1867 Coghurst Hall was described as a “commodious mansion, situated in a fine park" and boasted many famous visitors including a young Princess Victoria before she became Queen. Nowadays much of the original manor house has changed but still welcomes visitors and hosts the Club House to this country estate holiday park.

In 1066 Country, tucked away in fifty acres of gently sloping valley with a stunning 200 year old highly stocked fishing lake - home to some absolutely enormous carp – Island Lodge is an ideal venue for a restful break or a memorable holiday. Explore a myriad of footpaths through a profusion of natural flora and wildlife and find yourself a quiet spot to “chill out”. Enjoy a leisurely dip in the heated indoor swimming pool, relax in the jacuzzi and sauna or simply unwind over a glass of something chilled and sample a delicious variety of food whilst enjoying the entertainment in the Club House.

If you can tear yourself away visit the ancient coastal Cinque Port town of Hastings with a promenade offering miles of easy walking surrounded by scenic splendour. Hastings is a mixture of a modern shopping town and a medieval Old Town with narrow streets, half-timbered buildings and a famous fish market. With many leisure attractions you will be spoilt for choice but take a trip on one or both of the two historic character cliff lifts. West Hill Lift runs through the cliffs up to the site of Hastings Castle, where you can experience a taste of history with the 1066 Story whereas East Hill Lift transports you to the spectacular Hastings Country Park where the High Weald reaches the sea to stunning effect.

The elegant styling of Island Lodge will make you feel instantly at home. Gentle shades of coffee, cream, soft moss green and golden wood create a bright and airy atmosphere throughout this sophisticated lodge.

The chef in the house will be delighted with the efficient use of space and equipment in the kitchen/diner and the lounge with panoramic windows, comfortable seating and feature fire makes this the ideal spot to sit and simply enjoy time together. The tranquil master bedroom in calming tones of oatmeal and golden wood creates a perfect setting for a good night's sleep. Generous storage space with built in wardrobes and overhead cupboards, dressing table and en-suite toilet with handbasin add the finishing touches. A utility room and shower room with toilet and handbasin complete the accommodation.

When you are ready to relax just step out onto your wrap-around decking, the perfect platform to take in the view and watch the world go by as you enjoy those long summer days!
