Icklesham, Rye, East Sussex.
Situated down a private quiet country lane this quaint property enjoys an idyllic location and is surrounded by stunning countryside with beautiful woodland and a lake belonging to the owners, which is available for guests to enjoy and fish.
Icklesham is a few miles from the ancient Cinque Port of Rye and two miles away from the smallest town in England, the relaxing little resort of Winchelsea. Here you will find the beach and is a great place for wind surfing. Many species of birds frequent the sands and the shore is also popular with dog walkers and folk with shrimping nets. The village boasts a beautifully restored Smock Windmill with a famous owner, as during the last quarter of the 20th Century the mill found a new use as the recording studios of Sir Paul McCartney.
The 1066 walk runs through the village and offers a spectacular tour of the area's finest sights and is also a great opportunity to learn about the colourful history of this extraordinary county. Nowhere else could you relive a Norman Battle, go llama trekking, find a 69 metre tall long chalk man on a hillside and dine on a 1920's Golden Arrow steam train all in one day. Whatever the season or weather there is so much to do in this unrivalled corner of the country you will be assured of a memorable holiday.
Originally a cart shed and now thoughtfully converted into a comfortable holiday home. All on a single level Garden Cottage is suitable for guests with limited mobility. Within the cottage is a compact kitchen, a spacious bedroom with one double and a single bed separated by a curtain divider and a shower room with washbasin. The open plan lounge/diner complete with log burning stove has French windows opening onto a small mature secluded garden bordering a pond, which attracts an array of wildlife and is a marvellous spot to sit and enjoy the delightful views.
