Idyllically situated on the Kent and Sussex borders midst the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just 2 miles from Hartfield and the Ashdown Forest, home of "Winnie the Pooh" and just 5 miles from the Spa town of Tunbridge Wells.
If Castles and Stately homes are on your agenda then Kent View Cottage has both; Hever Castle and Penshurst Place are both just 2 miles from the doorstep with Westerham and Chartwell the home of Winston Churchill just 8 miles away. Other attractions accessible within half and hour's drive include Hammerwood House, Scotney Castle and Knole Park in Sevenoaks.
With 48 acres of private land and two 3/4 acres lakes the farm has plenty to offer. During the months of March, April and May the owner teaches Fly Fishing for Trout at the farm and some special "Learn to fly-fish" three and four day breaks are offered over this period. There is also Tench fishing from June 16th through until the end of the season which is available to guests.
Golfers are also catered for with more than a dozen top courses within 15 minutes drive and three course within 2 miles. There is also fabulous horse riding available in the Ashdown Forest just three miles away.
A former milking parlour, Kent View Cottage sits adjacent to the owner's house, high on a hill in Sussex overlooking glorious Kent countryside and the Kent Water Brook, the small stream that forms the county border.
Approached from a private drive well away from the main road this single storey red brick building has been beautifully refurbished to offer two double bedrooms (one with a king size bed and one with two doubles) both with under-floor heated, en-suite wet rooms. The cottage also has a utility room, large sitting/dining room with an additional sofa bed, fireplace and wood burning stove and a separate kitchen with a breakfast area and an Alpha cooker.
Real oak furniture and flooring give the cottage a warm, comfortable and traditional feel but it is really the stunnning views that catch the eye form every room that sets this property apart. Outside there is a small private sitting area for the cottage with garden furniture and a modern gas barbeque.
Beautiful walks start right from the door both around the farms and further afield on bridal and footpaths. Local pubs serve traditional local ales and food nearby.
